The land was donated for this church and cemetery by Mrs. Adams and her late sister, Ruth Jordan in 1937.

On November 10, 1911, Mrs. Adams was born in the Hudson Community, less than 1/4 mile from where she resided for the remainder of her life. Her age was 88 years, 3 months and 7 days.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Victoria (Busby) Jordan in 1917; her father, Oscar Jordan, in 1972; step mother, Clara Jordan in 1986; and sister Ruth Jordan in 1985.

Welcome Home Baptist Church's pastor, Bro. Bill Moore and a close friend of the family, Bro. Lester Carpenter, officiated. Matt and Patrice LaFollette did "Amazing Grace". This is the favorite of Mrs. Adams' only great-grandson, Jonathon Preston. Mrs. Moore did a beautiful medley about Heaven.

Mrs. Adams was a member of the Welcome Home Baptist Church, a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Elzie George Adams, of the Hudson Community; one daughter Gloria Jean (Adams) Murphy and husband Claude, also of Hudson; two brothers, John Jordan and wife Jerline, and Roy Jordan and wife Bettye, also of Hudson; two granddaughters, Victoria Murphy of Lafayette, LA and Cathy (Murphy) Preston and husband of Burlington, NC; one great grandson, Jonathon Austin Preston, also of Burlington, NC.
