Oscar A. Jordan, 89, of Dodson, died Friday morning, April 14, 1972, at Winnfield General Hospital, after a short illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 15, 2 p.m., at Welcome Home Baptist Church in the Hudson Community. Rev. J. D. Enterkin and Rev. O. E. Honeycutt officiated at the services.

Burial was in Zion Hill Cemetery near Tannehill under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mr. Jordan was a native of Winn Parish and a charter member of the Welcome Home Baptist Church. He served 56 years as a deacon of the Zion Hill Baptist Church near Tannehill. Mr. Jordan also sent eight children to Winn Parish public schools for 47 consecutive years.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Clara Brewer Jordan, Dodson; two sons, John W. Jordan and Roy D. Jordan, both of Dodson; two daughters, Miss Ruth Jordan and Mrs. Ruby Adams, both of Dodson; one brother, Mervin A. Jordan, Sr., of Dodson; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
