James B. (Benny) Farmer, 73, 1906 5th Street, Radford, died Friday in Radford Community Hospital. He was an employee of Leggett Department Store for 20 years and manager of the Men's Department. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Helen Farmer of Radford; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Margaret Lester of Norfolk, Mrs. Lois Altizer of Radford, and Mrs. Mary Jo Eaton of Lynchburg; one stepson, Buddy Kinder of Los Angeles, CA; three sisters, Mrs. Julia Crawford and Mrs. Sarah Burton, both of Pulaski, and Mrs. Elizabeth Rector, of Yakimo, WA; three brothers, Carl 0. Farmer of Pulaski, Kenneth W. Farmer of Wilmington, DE, and Lewis C. Farmer of Roanoke; 20 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. in Grove Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Weikel officiating. Masonic graveside services will be conducted at Highland Memory Gardens. Seaver-Sanders Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
