William Capers was the son of Maj. William Capers and his first wife, Mary Singletary. Hannah Coachman was the third wife (and the wife at the time of his death) of Maj. William Capers.

William Capers was an early bishop of the Methodist Church.

Read from Bishop William Capers autobiography, he married Anna White on Jan. 13 1813, she died on Jan 18 1814 the night his first son Theodosus was born.
