FRESNO MAN SUFFER WOUNDS
Fresno serviceman, Private First class Charles G. Hofeditz of the marines has been wounded in action.
Hofeditz, 21, has written his mother, Mr. Ida E. Perry of 4945 Iowa Avenue, he is recovering in a convalescent home on Guam from wounds suffered May 10th on Okinawa. the letter added he expects to be back with his company soon.
ENTERED SERVICE
Hofeditz entered the service in February, 1942, just after being graduated from the Fresno Technical High School with the midterm class. He was sent overseas last December, and landed on Okinawa on Easter Sunday.
A brother, Ensign La Verne Hofeditz, Jr., is serving with the Navy in San Diego, and a sister, Seaman First Class Winifred E. Hofeditz, is stationed with the WAVES on Terminal Island. Two other sisters, Mary Louise and Anna Mae Hofeditz, live at the Fresno address.
HOFEDITZ , CHARLES GILBERT SR. - Services for Charles Gilbert Hofeditz Sr., 72, of Fresno, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Boice Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Hofeditz , an electric engineer for PG&E for 38 years before retiring, died Monday. Visitation will be from 10 a.m to 7 p.m. today at the chapel.
