Powell, Mrs. Lena, 70 died Saturday at the home of a daughter here. Final rites will be conducted at 2p.m. Wednesday , April 13, 1960 at Colton Methodist Church with the Rev. Russell Tarver officiating. Burial in Colton Cemetery. Born November 29, 1880 in Iowa. She married Harvey Powell April 21, 1909, at Marion, Iowa. In 1910 they moved to a farm near Colton and resided there since. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Bert (Grace) Vankekerix, Sioux Falls, South Dakota ; two sons, Russell, Seattle, Washington and John, Redfield, South Dakota, four brothers, John, Fred, and Carl, all of Hartford, South Dakota and Martin of Coulee Dam, Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Adolph Johnson and Mrs. Louisa Levassaur of Hartford, South Dakota; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons. Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
