Last rites for John H. Schlieman were held in the United Methodist Church January 6. John Schlieman died January 2. The Rev. Jack Berg officiated and Mrs. Berg was at the organ. Mesdames Mildred Hotchkiss and Betty Miller sang. Interment is at the Colton cemetery
John Schlieman was born April 26, 1899 in Buena Vista, Iowa. He moved with his parents to a farm near Colton in 1910. He was married to Alice Anderson in Hartford, April 5, 1922. He was engaged in farming and sheep shearing from 1917 until his retirement in 1972, when they moved into Colton.
He is survived by his widow, son Harold Schlieman at home and daughter Mrs. Ronald (Deloris) McCabe, Vancouver, Washington. An infant son, three brothers and five sisters preceded him in death
