Son of former McComb Sheriff Francis "Rube" Monroe Lee('Rube' was a candidate for Gov. when he died ),"Collins" graduated from Mississippi College with a BS in Accounting and from the University of Mississippi with a JD. He had a successful law practice in Memphis,Tn. ( he practiced Corporate Law, representing American Express snd the ICRR, amoung other clients) until the Great Depression, after which, having been terribly impacted in the market crash, he joined FDR's Reconstruction Finance Corporation in Washington,DC where he worked for over 10 years and until his death. He also was football coach at McComb HS while living on Louisiana St. He later had a home in Summit,Ms. and a second home in Manhattan, New York. (see 1920 census). He was the son of Mr.and Mrs. Francis M. Lee;brother of Birdie Lee; husband of Edith Cayce Lee and father of Frank Cayce Lee and Virginia Lee, all of whom are buried in the Lee plot in Hollywood Cemetery.

FCLee Sr. coached football at his alma mater Mississippi College in 1905.
