Anna Wachter was born in Alexandria, Minnesota February 8, 1886, the daughter of Frederich and Henrietta Fiebranz. she was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church and was a lifetime member of this congregation. She attended school and lived her entire life in the Alexandria community. In 1910 she was united in marriage to Fred Wachter. Mr. and Mrs. Wachter farmed in LaGrande Township. He preceded her in death in 1949. Mrs. Wachter has resided in Knute Nelson Memorial Home for the past two and a half years.
She passed away at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, March 24, 1974 at the age of 88 years. She is survived by one son and three daughters: Milford Wachter of Alexandria, Minnesota; Frances (Mrs. Ray Rediehs) of Alexandria, Minnesota; Gladys (Mrs. Kenneth Soderholm) of Clovis, California; Dolores (Mrs. Myron Broschat) of Fergus Falls, Minnesota; also surviving are thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters: Miss Louise Fiebranz and Mrs. Marie Nack of Alexandria. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and one sister, William, Freda and Minnie Fiebranz.
Funeral services were March 27, 1974 at Zion Lutheran Church, Alexandria, Minn., with Rev. K. K. Hill officiating. Interment at Kinkead Cemetery, Alexandria, Minnesota. Pallbearers: Harold Fiebranz, John Meyer, Gerhard Nack, Arthur Fiebranz, Francis Paulzine and Roland Nack.
