Clara Bell Tootsie Akers, 78 of Pulaski passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003 in the Pulaski Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pulaski. She was born on Nov. 28, 1924 in Christiansburg to the late William Blain Akers & Carlene Clark Akers. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Akers Crockett. Surviving are brothers & sisters-in-law, Charles Hampton & Lucille Akers, Christiansburg, James Kelly & Aliceon Akers, Roanoke, John D. & Jan Akers, Pulaski and George Delano & Carol Akers, Pulaski; sisters & brothers-in-law, Dorothy & Ken Ford, Winston-Salem, NC, Janet & Tommy Cundiff, Hampton and Betty Linkous, Pulaski; brothers-in-law, Richard Crockett, Pulaski and Jack Linkous, Pulaski. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Weston Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Tuesday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Pulaski.
