Barbara Sue Akers Crockett, 59, of 1044 MacGill Street, Pulaski, died Sunday, January 14, 2001 at her home.

She was born in Christiansburg, on March 6, 1941, and was the daughter of the late W.H. Blain Akers and Carlene Clark Akers.

She was a retired employee of Renfro, Inc., Pulaski and was a former head cashier at A & P, Pulaski. She was a member of the Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are: husband, Richard M. "Dick" Crockett of Pulaski; a daughter and son-in- law, Jennifer and Randy Stafford of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, Chris and Alex Stafford of Tampa, Fla.; brothers and sisters, Charles Hampton Akers of Christiansbqrg, Dorothy A. Ford of Winston-Salem, N.C., James Kelly Akers of Roanoke, Clarbel Akers, John D. Akers, Betty A. Linkous, George D. Akers and Janet A. Cundiff, all of Pulaski; a sister-in-law, Leona Crockett Trail of Pulaski and a special friend, Jimmy Fisher of Pulaski.

Funeral services Will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Weston Guthrie and Rev. Hershey J. Longenecker officiating.

Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visiting will be this evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church, Pulaski. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Pulaski.
