Annie Lois Gore, 90 of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Trinity Healthcare, Columbus, MS.
Visitation was held Sunday, June 28, 2009 from 6 – 8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 29, 2009 at 2 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Gillon, officiating, Bro. Ron McDougald and Bro. Steve Lammons assisting. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Pickens County, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.
Mrs. Gore was born July 24, 1918 in Reform, AL to the late James R. and Mary Frances Ashcraft Guin and was a resident of Columbus, MS her whole life. She loved gardening, especially flowers, was a member of the Nancy Vaughn Sunday School Class of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and a Topagers of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mrs. Gore was one of two surviving members of the 2nd graduating class of New Hope High School, Columbus, MS and a charter member of Friendship Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gore is preceded in death by her husband, John Albert Gore and daughter, Rosamond Gore.
Mrs. Gore is survived by her sons – James W. "Buddy" (Janice) Gore, Geneva, FL; John M. (Debbie) Gore, Columbus, MS; Edward Eugene (Gail) Gore, Columbus, MS; William A. Gore, Columbus, MS; daughters – Barbara G. Linde, Lakeview, AR; Betsy G. Roberson, Auburn, WA; Gwen G. Parham, Nesbit, MS; Kaye G. (Gerry) Burnett; 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; and special friends – Mrs. Virginia Davis, Columbus, MS; and Mrs. Dot Lockhart, Steens, MS.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Brown, David Dortch, Jim Gore, Buddy Guin, Hardy Hester, Mark Oswalt, and Robert McKay. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clay Wilkes, Steve Wilkes, Randolph Brown, Terry Brown, Doug Brown, Clifton Gore, A.J. Steverson, Jr., Ed Edmonson, Dr. John Whitaker, Dr. James Woodard, Dr. Jerry Stennett, Buddy Halbert, Buddy Godfrey, Nancy Vaughn Sunday School Class, Ray Crane, John Clark, Staff of Trinity Healthcare, and 4th Floor Nursing Staff of Baptist Memorial Hospital – GT.
