Obituary for Gladys Rose Boutwell - Newspaper unknown
Funeral services for Mrs Gladys Boutwell of Keithsburg, formerly of the Little York community, who was pronounced dead on arrival Tuesday night at the Mercer county hospital in Aledo, after apparently suffering a heart attack while driving on Illinois Route No 17 about a half mile east of Viola, are tentively set for Sunday at 2:30 pm at the Turnbull Funeral Home, Elder Lyle Ehuler of Rock Island, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church at Seaton, will officiate with burial in the Cedar Creek cemetery. Friends may call any time after 2:30 pm Friday, at the Turnbull Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the Turnbull Chapel, Saturday from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm. A memorial fund has been established in memory of Mrs Boutwell for the heart fund. Donations may be left at Turnbulls.

Gladys Rose McIntyre married Lawrence Weaver Kendall on January 24, 1917 at Norwood, Mercer Co, IL. Gladys and Lawrence were blessed with 10 children, the first born in Tippecanoe Co, IN, the next 4 born in Mercer Co, IL and the last 5 born in Louisville, Jefferson Co, KY. She was preceded in death by a son Melvin Earl (OraLee) Kendall and a daughter Virginia Rose Kendall. She was survived by 4 sons Lawrence Witwer (Beulah) Kendall of St Petersburg, FL, James Paul (Mary Jo) Kendall of Baldwin Hills, CA, Howard Eugene (Lena) Kendall of Lakewood, OH and William Carl (Micky) of Little York, IL; and 4 daughters Mildred Pauline (Russell) Lewis of Little York, IL, Verna Izora (K Lee) Alvey of Manhattan Beach, CA, Doris Bernice (Les) Kessinger of Louisville, KY and Athaleen Lucille (Bill) Meredith of Pleasure Ridge Park, KY. She was also surviverd by her husband George Horace Boutwell of Keithsburg, IL whom she married in 1964.

Gladys Rose married again after she and Lawrence Kendall divorced but therre were no additional children.
