He received three citations, the American Theater Ribbon, The Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He did not serve overseas but was trained as an Armament, Power Operated Gun Turrett and Unisight Repairman.
He was the son of Clayton Burleigh "Burt" and Maude Annette (Hamm) Arthur.
