Margaret E. Jakobe, 83, Leawood, KS, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 19, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Rd., Kansas City, MO, with rosary services at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20 at Cure of Ars Church, 9401 Mission Rd, Leawood, KS 66206. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, Kansas.

Margaret was born on January 8, 1926 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of the late Margaret (Diibon) and Joseph Allin. She moved to Leawood, Kansas in 1951, where she lived until her death.

She was a member of Cure of Ars parish from its inception and was an active member of the Mission group. She worked with her husband in the family business, J.G. Jakobe and Sons, a sheet metal company. She was also a long-term volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Jakobe, her brother Joseph T. Allin, Jr., her sister Anna Marie (Allin) Hart, her brothers-in- law Leo Hart and Silas Wessing, and her sister-in-law Karin Allin. She will be missed by her five children: Kathleen (Steve) Schultz of Wheaton, IL, Margaret (Maynard) Brandon of Acton, MA, Robert (Mimi) Jakobe of Phoenix, MD, Terence (Carolyn) Jakobe of Overland Park, KS, Diane Jakobe of Leawood, KS; seven grandchildren and six great- grandchildren; her sisters: Dorothy (Willis) Lee of Cleveland, MO, Catherine Wessing of Drexel, MO, Regina (Fred) Davidson of Springfield, MO; her brothers: George (Mary) Allin of Wichita, KS, John Allin of Drexel, MO, James Allin of Lee Summit, MO; her sister-in-law Patricia Allin of Raytown, MO and many nieces and nephews.
