Entered the service Sept. 20, 1917; made sergeant June 17, 1918; in the service 631 days; in the trenches 33 days, and in the major offensive 20 days, center section, Alsace-Lorraine; discharged June 11, 1919.

Max H Boydston, 67, of 826 Lombard St, died Friday night at Veterans Hospital in Iowa City.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2PM in the Hinchliff and Pearson Funeral Chapel, where friends may call Monday. Burial will be in the Linwood Cemetery.
Mr. Boydston, who was born October 13, 1887, is survived by his wife, Muriel, and two sons, Everett of Fresno, CA and Harold of East Peoria.

Funeral services for Max Herbert Boydston, 67, of 826 Lombard St, who died Saturday morning in the Veterans Hospital at Iowa City, where he had been a patient since April 5, will be conducted Tuesday at 2PM in the Hinchliff and Pearson Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be in the Linwood Cemetery, where military rites will be held by the American Legion. Friends may call this evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Boydston was born October 13, 1887 in Newton, KS. He attended Galesburg schools and resided in the city and vicinity for 60 years. His marriage to Muriel Norris Miller took place January 9, 1929, in Chicago.
During his active career, he was employed as an electrician, having worked for several local contractors and also at Mayo General Hospital here. He also had been employed as a lineman by the Intra State Telephone Co.
He served as a Sergeant in World War I, with Hq. Co. of the 349th Reg., 88th Inf. Div. He was in military service two years. He was a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife and two brothers, Frank H of East Peoria and Everett L of Fresno, CA, who were incorrectly listed as sons in his death notice which appeared in Saturday's Edition of the Register-Mail.
