Americanized version of his name, he used Lewis, spelled Louis on some documents.

Obituary:
LEWIS E. LUND
Lewis E. Lund, who was stricken with acute heart failure at his home in Nelson, and passed away suddenly June 27 at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 23 days, was born in Norway, February 2, 1866.
When he was 7 his parents emigrated to America and settled in Iowa, where they lived several years, when they moved to Martin County, Minnesota, and there Lewis grew to manhood and was married to Margaret Olson.
About 50 years ago Mr. Lund, with his family, came to Douglas county and settled near Lake Jessie in Alexandria township. He lived in various locations in the Nelson vicinity and 26 years ago moved into Nelson and has lived in the present home since that time.
Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Lund, four of whom died in infancy. One son, Freddie Lund, the most noted stunt flier of his time, was accidentally killed in an airplane accident about 12 years ago. Two sons, Gilbert and Edward, live in Long Beach, Calif., and one daughter, Alberta (Mrs. Carl Trowbridge) of Park Rapids, Minn. Nine grandchildren are also left to mourn his loss,
He is also survived by two sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Anna Swaren, Alberta, Canada, and Mrs. Martha Anderson of Alexandria, and Martin of Chicago and Lars of Anaheim, California.
His wife, Margaret, passed away 34 years ago. On November 21, 1911 he was married to Mary Thorson at Alexandria by Rev. B. A. Benson, who survives him.
Mr. Lund was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Odin, Minnesota, in the St. Oluf Church of which he remained a member until he came to Douglas County. Mr. Lund was a faithful member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Nelson for many years.
Funeral services were held at the Anderson Funeral Home at 1:15 Friday, July 2, and at 2 p.. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church at Nelson, Rev. C. E. Hanson, officiating. Interment was made in the Nelson church cemetery.
Leighton Knutson sang a vocal solo, "I Know of a Sleep in Jesus' Name," and Leighton Knutson and Mrs. Theo. Schelin sang, "Nearer My God to Thee," and Mrs. Schelin accompanied on the organ.
The Pallbearers were John Iverson, Hans Iverson, Jacob Larson, Ed Lommen, Carl Nelson and O. Rasset.
Among those attending from a distance were his daughter, Alberta, Mrs. Carl Trowbridge and son of Park Rapids, Minnesota; son Gilbert, and wife and son Edward, all from Long Beach California, and a brother Martin Linn, from Chicago. Also, in attendance was a brother of Mrs. Lund, Mr. Thorson of Odin, Minnesota, and her sister Mrs. Walter Larson, and niece, Mrs. Lloyd Filbur, and nephew, Alvin Larson, all of Fairmont.
