Melancholly Event at Blood’s Hollow—-A truly said accident occurred at Blood’s Hollow [a/k/a Bloodville], in Milton yesterday [13 Sep]. William Clarance, an interesting and only son Isaiah Blood, Esq., supervisor of that town, 5 years of age, was drowned in the dam of his father’s scythe works. At the time of the accident the little fellow was in company with an other boy of his own age, who was so overcome by the disappearance of his companion in the water, that he was incapable of communicating the fact. An hour and a half elapsed before the recovery of the body. [the scythe works was in back of the residence and down hill at the creek]
