Abram Woodman and Caroline Shoup were married on 14 Oct., 1862 by David Winters, M.G., in Montgomery County, OH. Together they had fifteen children. Abram farmed in Montgomery County and then in Darke County. From his obituary: "He was one of those grand old pioneers of which any county could be justly proud. He was honest and upright in all his dealings and was honored and respected by all who knew him....He was a kind father, never complaining, always looking on the bright side of life. He will be greatly missed by his children, especially the two with whom he had lived in recent years (Wash and Fannie May)."
