Abram (born Francis) married Almina Houghton on August 3, 1867 in Monroe County, MI at the home of Wm. Houghton. Witnesses were Harry Houghton and Frank Packard (pension papers). Their children are Elmer, Erving (Ervie) and Eugene (Richard/Gene). Abram was in the Civil War, 23rd Michigan Infantry. He enlisted on September 2, 1864 at the age of 22 in Tecumseh, MI. Mustered Out on June 28 1865 at Salisbury, NC. Siblings: Harriet (married Wm. Houghton), James H.(Henry)(married Sarah Ditto), Jared (Jerry)(married Ann McCord), Abijah (married Malissa Russell), Ann M. (married Charles Bartholomew), Rhoda (married Richard Goodall), George M.(married Caroline Auten), Frank D. (married Carissa Caswell, Clara (Austin) Wallace and Mrs. Mary Warren). Parents: Elijah Packard and Evelina Woodruff who were married July 3, 1828 in Moreau, NY. (Notice in the Saratoga Sentinel on July 15, 1828). You will also find proof of lineage in a book of OHIO The Cross Road of our Nation RECORDS & PIONEER FAMILIES Volume XV, No. 2, 1974, Page 89. Elijah and Evelina (Woodruff) are listed as parents on the marriage records of Frank Packard. I also have pension papers making this connection of brothers. Packard lineage is Samuel, Zaccheus, Capt. Abiel, Thomas, Elijah, Elijah and Abram. Have not found any death records of Elijah and Evelina or her name change to Bond (Bond given on Ann's death record which could be wrong, as was Sarah instead of Evelina given on Jared/Jerry's).
