Julius Edward Pitts was born September 17, 1898 at Newborn, Georgia. He was a farmer with light hazel eyes, black hair, a ruddy complexion, and stood five feet nine inches tall when he enlisted in the Navy.
MILITARY RECORD:
Enlisted 3 January 1918 as Apprentice Seaman at Atlanta, Georgia; service with Receiving Ship, and was honorably discharged 6 February 1919 as Seaman second class.
He married Cleata M. (Townsend) Davis on March 2, 1950 at Jonesboro, Tennessee. The couple moved to Wenatchee, Washington in 1955 and remained there until they became members of the Washington Veterans Home at Retsil.
Mr. Pitts died February 1976 at Retsil and is buried in the Home Cemetery next to his wife.
