ALLEN, Louise OBITUARY: The Pulaski Citizen, 05 Nov 1985
Mrs. Louise Allen, 65, of Pulaski, died Friday, November 1, 1985, at Parkview Hospital in Nashville.
Funeral services were held at 1 p. m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at Carr and Erwin Chapel with Mack Pinkelton officiating. Burial was in Lynnwood Cemetery.
A native of Giles County, she was the daughter of the late Flenoy (Flourney) Chapman and was married to the late R. C. (Robert Carter) Allen. She was a retired employee of Maremont-Gabriel.
Survivors include her mother, Mattie(Nee Dickey-"Married Surnames"Chapman-Doggett-Blade of Pulaski; four sons, Roger Dale Allen of Maryland, Robert Allen of Pulaski, Ronnie and James Wendell Allen, both of North Carolina; one daughter, Dorothy Durkin of Maryland; three brothers, John Morris Chapman of Pulaski, W. C. Chapman, of Alabama, James Chapman of Kentucky; two sisters, Luvenia Burton and Ruth Minor, both of Pulaski; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Only 1 of her children still lives.All of her siblings, which were many have also passed.

Everyone, at least in my World, has a Grandmom that is a Norman Rockwell of Grandmoms, then you have the "hip" Grandmom. Grandmom Louise was the cool grandmom. She wasn't scared of anything, except maybe the ghosts that were said to reside at the old house on the farm. :)

Like her Mother, she knew how to shoot, and did. We are talking shotguns here. She had the best laugh, I can still hear it. She told me that after Grandpa passed away, he came and pulled her toes at night lol. Not sure if she really thought that, or was just joshing me.

Grandma was a fun woman. Great sense of humor. She worked until she reached full retirement, and like my Dad, never got to enjoy it. I like to think she is doing that now.
