Lillian V. Saylor, age 91, of North Adams Home in Mendon, formerly of Country Club Heights Apartments, died on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 3:40 a.m. in the Home. She was born on February 3, 1918 in Quincy, Illinois, a daughter of John and Hazel (Darnell) Wardlow. She worked at the 6th & Washington meat market for many years. Lillian enjoyed camping, reading, and she grew beautiful roses. Survivors include: ONE SON: Allan Saylor of St. Louis, MO; FIVE GRANDCHILDREN: Joseph A. Saylor, Pamala Saylor, Deborah Saylor Burns, Jeff Saylor, and Greg Saylor; ONE BROTHER: John Wardlow and his wife Freeda of Fowler. Numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Gilbert Saylor & Joseph W. Saylor, one grandson, Doug Saylor, one brother, Aaron Wardlow, three sisters, Dessie Patrick, Tudie Hutchison, and Edith York. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. Keith Garrett. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
