Robert Marion Walker, 91, of Keokuk, died Friday, April 02, 2004 at 10:33 A.M. at River Hills Village in Keokuk, Iowa.

Robert Walker was born on March 30, 1913 in Winchester, Missouri. He was the son of Francis M. and Rosemary Smith Walker. He married Wilma Banks on May 29, 1936 in Kahoka, Missouri. She preceded him in death on December 17, 2000. He had lived in Keokuk since 1936 and had been employed at National Carbide for thirty-two years, retiring in 1986. He later worked at the Hubinger Company and Steel Castings as a Pinkerton guard. He also worked for 14 years as custodian for the United Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of Keokuk Lodge #29 A.F. & A.M., and had been a member of Elks Lodge #106.

Survivors include son-in-law, Bruce Van Dever of Keokuk; daughter-in-law, Judy Walker of Promise City, Iowa; three grandchildren, Lisa Fuller of Ft. Madison, Lynn Schwiete and her husband, Chuck, of Keokuk and Steve Van Dever of Atlanta, Georgia; two step grandchildren, Brady Jones and Shannon Bolt; three great grandchildren, Jordan and Haley Fuller, and Matthew Schwiete; four step great grandchildren, Michael & Nicole Bolt and Timothy & Taisa Jones; three brothers, Raymond Walker and his wife, Rennah, of Washington, Wayne Walker and his wife, Nell of Washington, and Howard Walker and his wife, Barbara, of California; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four brothers, Edward, Clyde, Fred and Calvin; and two sisters, Mabel in infancy and Ruth Washburn; a son, Gale; and a daughter, Carole Van Dever.

Services were Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at DeJong's Funeral Home with Pastor Emmanuel Dass officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk.

A public Masonic Memorial service was held at DeJong's Funeral Home.
