William Stevens Shetterly was born 1831 Madison Co IN he died Sept 12, 1892 Des Moines, Polk Co Iowa. The family went to Iowa and that is where he went into the service at.

William Shetterly was the husband of Elizabeth Wise who died much later and she is buried in Kansas. She went there after her husbands death. William Shetterly was the son of John Henry Shetterly, Sr. & Mary Jane Fisher. His father is bur. in the same cem. but his mother died here in Indiana

William's brother Samuel Shetterly is also buried at Hartford Cemetary, with his wife Margare Jane (Freel) Shetterly. As are several other family members, sisters & brother in laws, neices, nephews.
