Son of John & Ellen (Yoho) Watson. Husband of Lucinda Whitehall, Mary Sellers and Sarah Jerles.


Yoho Watson was born August 25, 1818, and died August 17, 1911, aged ninety-two years, eleven months, and twenty-two days.

He was united in marriage to Lucinda Whitehill about the year 1840 and to this union was born one son, John W., who enlisted in the War of 1861-1865 and died in the south with measles.

He was united in marriage again to Mary Sellers, about the year 1843, and to this union were born nine children, William of Akron, Ohio; Yoho of Middletown, Ohio; Nellie, Mason, Eli and Charles all died within one week with diphtheria in the year 1863 and Cynthia Cripet died in the year 1893, David of Batesville and Benjamin of Toronto, O.

He was united in marriage again to Sarah Jerles, July 21, 1894, and to this Union were born three children, Nettie H. of the home, Amy died in the year 1898 and Savanna C. of the home. He enlisted in the War of 61-65, August 20, 1862, in CO. H, 116th Regt. O.V.I. and was discharged June 14, 1865.

His comrades, some of whom attended the funeral, can testify that he was a brave soldier, always ready and willing for duty when the trials of battle were upon him.
