Obituary - Former Valley resident dies
Christina Nyman Egbert, age 95 of Logan, died Tuesday, June 24, 1986 at Sunshine Terrace.
Funeral services were held Saturday June 28, 1986 at Nelson Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. with Bishop J Derle thorpe conducting. Burial in the Logan City Cemetery.
She was born July 3, 1891 in North Logan, a daughter of Carl and Albertine Axelina Loving Nyman. She grew up and was educated in North Logan and attended Utah State Agricultural College with later became Utah State University. She taught school in North Logan, Panquitch, Utah, Afton, Wyoming and McCammon, Idaho. She also lived in Ogden, Smithfield, Midvale and moved to Cache Valley in 1931.
She married Archibald Duncan Egbert on June 12, 1912 in the Logan Temple. He died in 1971. She was a member of the L.D.S. Church and was a temple officiator for many years, a visiting teacher, Relief Society Teacher and was stake MIA president.
Survivors include two sons; Archie O. Egbert, serving as mission president in Vina Del Mar, Chile, Larre N. Egbert of Smithfield; three daughters, Mrs Vincent V. (Shirley E.) Larson of Logan, Mrs Al J (Venna E.) Pitcher of Mesa, Ariz., Mrs Dale O. (Fern E.) Van Orden of Salt Lake City; 32 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; one sister Vilate N. Johnson of Logan. She was preceded in death by one daughter.
