Carl O. and Margaret L. Heston, Topeka, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniverssary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. June 22 at the Rice Community Center, 432 SE Norwood, hosted by their family.
Carl o. Heston and Margaret L. Failer were married June 22, 1937 in St. Marys. Their six children and spouses are Carl Omar and Betty Heston, Smithville, Mo.; Mary Jo and Jim Hastings, Berryton; Carol Anne and Bruce White, Meriden; Norma Jean and Ralph Davidson, Felicity, Ohio; Janet Sue Usher, Topeka; and Paul Edward and Joyce Heston, Topeka.
The Hestons have 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Mr Heston retired in 1980 as a carpenter after 40 years of service. Mrs Heston retired in 1980 from Luce Press Clipping Bureau as a newspaper reader after 14 years of service. She is a homemaker. The couple request no gifts, but would welcome cards.

Mr. Heston was born August 27, 1915 in St. Marys and has lived in Topeka since 1941. He was a carpenter and worked at the Kansas Museum of History.
He has six children, Carl O. Heston, Jr. Mary Jo Hastings, Carol Anne Whiter, Norma Jean Davidson, Janet Sue Usher and Paul Heston. He has 18 livig grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

OBITUARY
Carl O. Heston, Sr., 92, of Topeka, passed away on Apr. 15, 2008. He was born Aug. 27, 1915 in St. Marys, the son of Samuel and Ethelinda (George) Heston. Carl served in the US Army during World War II. He was a carpenter by trade. He retired from the Kansas State Historical Society in 1980.
On June 22, 1937 he was united in marriage to Margaret L. Failer at St. Marys, Kansas. Mrs Heston preceded him in death on July 24, 2006.
Survivors include his children, Carl O. Heston, Jr., of Parkville, MO, Mary Jo Hastings of Berryton, Carol White of Meriden, Norma Davidson of Felicity, OH, Janice Usher of Topeka and Paul Heston of Topeka; 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m Thursday, April 17th at Davidson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12 - 1:30 Thursday prior to the funeral. Interment will follow the service at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Cr, Topeka, KS 66606
