Katie Belle Shultz

Katie Belle Shultz was born June 23, 1891 in Moultrie County, departed from this life April 13, 1919, in Pierson aged 27 years, 9 months and 20 days.
At the age of ten years she united with the Christian Church of Pierson and has been a faithful member and willing worker from that time until sickness and death claimed her.
On February 14, 1912, she was married to John Wierman. To this happy union were born three children: Warren Wilfred, four years; Cedric Dale, two years; and Phyllis Katherine, eight months.
Besides her heartbroken husband and children, she leaves to mourn her loss her father, mother and three sisters and host of relatives and friends.
During her last illness she was patient and uncomplaining, firm in her faith that God's will is always for the best, but hopeful that she might be spared for the sake of her babies.
In her last hours she called her nearest relatives to her bedside and calmly and tenderly bade them good by. She gave a personal message to each: told them to meet her and confidently said she would see Grandpa Hook very soon.
For her two boys and her daughter she thoughtfully planned a future.
To all her friends and relatives who had cheered her months of pain with with flowers and kind and thoughtful attentions, she left a loving good by and her heartfelt thanks for their goodness.
Katie was a kind and thoughtful mother and wife, devoted daughter, a loving sister and friend.
In her passing she has left a vacant place in her home, her church and circle of friends which will never be filled.
Knowing how badly we shall miss her here, on this earth, we can feel that surely God had a special and urgent mission for her in heaven, else he wouldn't have called her home.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 P.M. Tuesday, April 15, at the Pierson Christian Church, conducted by Revs. Hoel and Geeding. Interment was in the Mackville Cemetery.
