WILLARD -- John (Jack) Leonard Ormond, 80 passed away Friday, August 10, 2001 at his home with his loving wife and children by his side. Jack was born in Pocatello, ID, on July 1, 1921 to Zetta Hancock and Leonard Ormond.
He graduated from North Gem High School in 1940 and earned an Associates Degree in business from Ricks College in Rexburg, ID.
Jack married Dorothy Campbell June 4, 1948. Together they raised five children. Jack was employed by Swift & Co. in Ogden, UT for over 20 years. He then founded J.L. Ormond & Sons in 1970 and worked with his sons to expand to Ormond Const. Inc.
Jack was a former secretary of Elders Quorum, president of Willard PTA when his children were in school, and helped with the Willard Dance organization committee.
He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his siblings, sister-in-laws, children and 17 grandchildren and entertaining in his yard.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, TJ Ormond; brother, William Joseph Ormond; and two sisters, Cleone Bowen; Mary Kopp.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; children, Kenneth (Ruth) Ormond; David (Cindy) Ormond of Willard; Laura (Greg) Rheam, Cacade, MT; John L. Ormond, Willard; Wynn B. (Gretchen) Ormond, Benson, UT; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; Sister Phoebe Welch, Chandler, AZ.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 13, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at the Willard Ward Chapel, 80 North 100 West, Willard.
Interment will be in the Willard Cemetery.
