JOSEPH HIBLER DEAD

Relatives and friends here received messages last Friday, announcing the death of Joseph M. Hibler, which occurred that day at Mercy hospital, Chicago, where he had been under treatment for several weeks. Mr. Hibler was taken to the hospital several weeks ago by his physician, Dr. Harry E. Tatum for the purpose of undergoing a surgical operation for a serious throat trouble, from which he had suffered for several months. The operation was deferred, in the hope that he would grow stronger, but he continued to weaken, and the end came Friday afternoon.
Joseph Marion Hibler was born in the vicinity of Bluff Point church, four miles east of town, Aug. 2, 1872, and at the time of his death was 41 years, 3 months and 16 days old. He was married Feb. 26, 1895, to Miss Sena Hazelett of the county, and to their union were born six children, only one of whom, little Joe, is living. Deceased also leaves his wife, and his aged father, Marion Hibler, one of this community's old and respected citizens. His mother died during his early childhood.
During his early manhood Mr. Hibler united with Bluff Baptist church, and to the last he remained a true and faithful member of that congregation. For a number of years he was a deacon and an active member of that church. He was a man of strict honor and integrity, and lived a quiet, straightforward, honorable life.
The remains were shipped back to his home here and funeral services were conducted at Bluff church Monday by his pastor, Rev. Sears of Clifton Hill. The burial was in the Lower cemetery, at the east edge of town.
To the sorrowing widow, the little son and the aged father our sincerest sympathies are extended.
