Oliver Crossley was born on September 19, 1913 to Minnie Dora (Taylor) Crossley and David Edward Crossley in Shawmut, Alabama. He joined the US Army in 1942. He married Patricia Anne Thompson in Los Angeles, California on May 13, 1963 and together they had a son, Edward. He was survived by his son, nieces, Edith Ann (Hyder) Baker, Pattie Lee (Alexander) Miley and Tina Winters, a nephew, Earnest Thompson, and many grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, parents, sister, Cora Lee (Crossley) Alexander, and earlier the year of his death, his sister, Mary Bell (Crossley) Lindsey, and by nephews William Edward Alexander and Taylor Thorn Alexander, Jr.
His son, Eddie, died in September 2006.
