SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Richard H. Bishop, of Lincoln Ave., died Sunday, November 28, 1999 at St. Mary's Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL. He was 78. Mr. Bishop was born on July 4, 1921 in Saratoga Springs, NY . He attended Saratoga Springs High School, was a graduate of Saranac Lake High School and competed in track at both schools. He received his bachelor of business administration from Siena College. He was employed by the State of New York Comptroller's Office in Albany as an investment officer until his retirement in 1979. He was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and competed in track for his unit while stationed in England. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Saratoga Springs. He was the son of the late Merton and Ethel (Eggleston) Bishop and was predeceased by his first wife, Phyllis Taylor Bishop; one sister, Doris Allen and one brother, Lawrence Bishop. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Corinna (Sigler) Bishop; one daughter, Eileen J. Christopher of Saratoga Springs; three sons, Richard T. Bishop of Saratoga Springs, Gregory R. Bishop of Malta and Brian Bishop of Windsor, CT; three stepchildren, Nancy Zuniga of Belize, Central America, Lynn Sarver of Gorham, ME and Donald Winckler of Endicott, NY ; one sister, Celia Mastrianni of Cleverdale, NY ; ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday at the United Methodist Church, corner of Henning Road and Fifth Avenue. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Friends may call at the William J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 628 North Broadway on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Richard H. Bishop Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of the Burke Funeral Home, which will be established at Saratoga Springs High School to assist a talented scholar who has demonstrated outstanding ability in track and field.
