Thomas Brazzil of Nolanville, formerly of Flat, died Thursday, at a Temple Hospital. He was 77.
Services will be 4pm Saturday at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel in Gatesville, the Rev. Jim Brazzil, the Rev. Dean Parmer and the Rev. A.J. Martin officiating. Burial will be in Flint Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Brazzil was born Jan 20, 1918, in Flat, where he grew up and went to school. He served in the US Navy during World War II aboard the USS Dixie.
He married Martha Bratcher on Nov 21, 1945. He was a retired Texas Dept of Highways employee. He lived in Temple before moving back to Flat in 1980.
He moved to Nolanville in 1993. He served as a scout master for 25 years and earned the Silver Beaver Award. He was also a member and deacon at the First Baptist Church in Flat.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas E. Brazzil of Nolanville and James (Jim) Brazzil of Liberty Hill; six sisters, Bonnie Williams of Fort Worth, Lois McCutcheon of Gatesville, Sarah McCutcheon of Hewitt, Charlene Neatherlin of Highlands, Gladys Barr and Bobbie Geiselbrecht of Flat; three brothers, John Brazzil of Canyon, J.W. Brazzil and Bill Brazzil, both of Highlands; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
