Rachel Ryker, daughter of Gerardus Ryker, the Revolutionary Kentucky pioneer, was married 3 times. Her first marriage was to Henry Houghland, Jan 5, 1791. [source--Jefferson County, Kentucky Marriages, Vol. 1, 1781-1826, page 12: January 5, 1791, Rachel Ryker to Henry Houghland by Rev. Jeshus Morris] They lived at the fort for protection from the Indians, near where Lexington now is. The Indians killed Henry and she later married William Robbins on Dec. 31, 1793. [source--Shelby County Kentucky Marriages, Vol. 1: December 31, 1793, Rachel Houghland to William Robins.] They went to Tippicanoe, Indiana where he took part in the Indian War. He there took sick and died in 1795. Her third marriage was to Samuel Smock on Nov. 18, 1797, in Kentucky. [source--Early Kentucky Settlers, Marriage Bonds, 1797, Page 147:

This marriage lasted many years, producing 11 children. Samuel died July 5, 1833 in Indiana.
