Victor J. Brumfield died Thursday, Nov. 23, 1995, at Medical Center of Baton Rouge. He was 79, a native of Tylertown, Miss., and resident of Denham Springs. He was retired from Ethel Corp. as a TEL operator and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survived by wife, Willie Mae Toney Brumfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan K. and Wendall Gibson, Crossett, Ark.; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Larry and Judy Brumfield, Denham Springs, Jimmy and Fran Brumfield, Baton Rouge, Don and Gayla Brumfield, Clovis, N.M., and Scott Brumfield, Denham Springs; three sisters, Jessie Lee Anders, Tylertown, Eddie Marie Toney, Bogalusa, and Louise Seal Watson, Baton Rouge; two brothers, the Rev. Robert (Albert) Brumfield, Arkansas, and Glendon Brumfield, Franklinton; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, Jesse M. and Ida Smith Brumfield; a son, Richard Lynn (Dickie) Brumfield; two brothers, Winford and Wilkie Brumfield; and two sisters, Marcell Crow and Laura Mae Alford.

He was a member of Grays Creek Baptist Church, served as past master and was a charter member of Hurd Merrill Masonic Lodge No. 454 F&AM. He was an honorary past master and member of Denham Springs Lodge No. F&AM, and was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of Acacia Temple, Baton Rouge.
