Jacob E. Banning
Jacob Edward Banning, son of Jacob E. and Rebecca Ann Banning, was born Dec. 24, 1899, at Stuart and died at Spirit Lake of a heart attack Saturday, Nov. 5, at the age of 55 years and 11 months.
He was the 10th in a family of 12 children. Three sister and four brothers preceded him in death. He is survived by two sisters, Mary, Mrs. Homer Masters of Perry, and Mattie, Mrs. Harry Sorensen of Milford, and two brothers, John of Spirit Lake and Charles of Spencer. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and many friends.
Mr. Banning had lived in the Arnolds Park area since 1920. He never married, but made a home for his mother and father as long as they lived. For some time he was a member of the Assembly Of God Church.
Funeral services were conducted from the Assembly of God Church at 1:30 p.m., Monday Nov. 7, with the Rev. Maynard Fishel officiating. Music was by Mrs. Fishel and Mrs. Tom Clinton of Milford.
Pallbearers were Jack Sitler, Mile Sheets, Donald Gilmore, Emmett Jordan, John Steinke and Hans Hoeppner. Interment was in Okoboji Cemetery at Arnolds Park.
