Mrs. Etta Colwell
Chillicothe — Mrs. Etta Colwell, 74, died at 4:05 p. m. Wednesday at Methodist Hospital in Peoria after an illness of several days.
She was born Sept. 21, 1882, at Wyoming, Ill., the daughter of Lavian and James Strong. She was married to Ernest L. Colwell Feb. 22, 1905, at Wyoming.
Surviving are six children, Harold, Bethel, Virgil and Irma all of Chillicothe; Mrs. Lee Beck of Henry and Mrs. Thirl Costin of Toulon; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Strong of Galesburg and Alfred Strong of Lacon, and one sister, Mrs. Phil Muckey of Toulon. An infant son, her husband and several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
She was a resident of Chillicothe for 15 years.
A brief memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. DST Saturday at the Weber Funeral Home, Chillicothe, with Rev. K. V. McConkey officiating. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church at Wyoming at 2:30 p. m. CST, with burial in Wyoming Cemetery. Visitation has been set for 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
