ZEBEDEE SWAIM DIED IN UNION TOWNSHIP WEDNESDAY
Zebedee Swaim, about seventy years of age and for a great many years a splendid citizen of this county, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Schultz in Union township Wednesday evening at about eight o'clock after a long illness caused by cancer.
Mr. Swaim resided for many years on his farm just west of Aix and continued to live there until his serious condition caused him to be removed to his daughter's home.
Deceased leaves to mourn their loss eight children and several sisters and brothers. His wife preceded him to the grave about two years ago.
The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the Aix church and burial will be made in the Prater cemetery.

LIGHTNING KILLS TWO COWS
Zeb Swaim, eight miles north, seems to have a share in all the bad luck that's going. His house and all its contents burned last winter and last Monday, he had a work horse fall dead in the harness; and Friday evening lightning struck and killed two good cows belonging to him. It appears that they were standing with their head partly under a wire fence, and the lighting struck and followed it until it reached the cows.
