John Peter was the first known Trexler immigrant to the U.S. in 1709. Married Catherine Breinig. He left Germany because he was Lutheran and didn't want to be prosecuted by the Catholics taking over. He arrived in England then sailed from England May 6, 1709 on St. Catherine's for New York State. John Peter was naturalized on January 9, 1730. They had 6 children: Jeremiah, Peter, JOHN, Margaret, Catherine, and Anna. Peter Trexler emigrated to America some time prior to 1720 and settled in Oley township, Berks county, where his name appears on a petition as early as Sept. 5, 1720. He afterward removed to Upper Macungie township, where he is said to have been the first white settler. On Nov. 18, 1729, he purchased from Caspar Wistar 138 3/4 acres of land west of where Breinigsville is now located, and the date of his deed precedes any yet found in the vicinity. On Nov. 1, 1742, he secured 100 acres by warrant, adjoining his other land on the west. Peter Trexler died in 1758 and was buried on his land.
