Thomas D. Dailey, 78, of 1219 Skirvin St., died at the St. Joseph's hospital yesterday morning following an extended illness.
A native of Jackson county, where he was born May 27, 1878, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Dailey, he was a member of the 19th St. Church of God and a retired contractor.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Luella Johnson Dailey; five sons, Calvin, Leon, Fred, Thomas, Jr., and Robert Dailey, all of Parkersburg; three daughters, Mrs. Nora Fickisen, Mrs. Stella Daley and Mrs. Geneva Vincent, all of Parkersburg; two brothers, Edward and Shirley of Akron; two sisters, Mrs. Linnie Egan of Akron and Mrs. Rachel Mercer of Richmond, Va.; 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the 19th St. Church of God, with the Rev. H.H. Hungate officiating. Burial will be in the Harkins cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour at the church prior to services.
