The body was brought to Rockland, Maine by Capt. Alton Brown of the White Head Coast Guard Station.
Dr. H.J. Weisman, Knox County medical examiner, estimated that death occurred between February and April 1942 and he believed that the body was that of a man weighing 170 pounds and about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a light blue jersey sweater under a heavy blue one, a tan zipper shirt, black scarf and blue dungarees.
Burial was on July 6, 1942 at the City Farm Cemetery, Rockland, Maine, first grave, second line.
Thought to be from one or more merchant ships sunk by German U-boats during WWII.
