Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 10:30 a.. m. at the Dripping Springs Church with the Rev. Carl Atnip officiating. Interment was in the Bowles cemetery.
Born in Barren county February 15, 1876, Mr. Bowles was a son of the late John Allen and Diane Brown Bowles. He was a member of the Big Meadow Baptist Church.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Georgia Ann Bowles; a daughter, Mrs. Emma Horton, Lecta; three sons, John Allen and Fred Bowles, both of Rushville, Ind., and Albert Bowles, at home; a sister, Mrs. Junie Pierce, Hopkinsville.

Samuel Bowles Dies At Laurel
Samuel L. Bowles, 75, of Lecta, Ky., died Saturday night at 9 o'clock at Laurel at the home of a son, John Bowles, following a stroke suffered earlier. He had been on a visit with the son.
Besides the son he is survived by the widow; two other sons, Fred of Rushville and Albert of Lecta; and a sister, Mrs. Junie Pierce of Kentucky; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The body was removed from the Moster Mortuary Sunday morning to the A. F. Crow Funeral Home at Glasgow, Ky., where services and burial will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
