Rudolph L. Lehmkuhl, owner of a shoe shop in Alexandria the past 11 years, who dropped death while pheasant hunting Sunday, was born at Echo, Minn., September 20, 1898. He grew to manhood there and was married at Morgan, Minn., October 5, 1922, to Augusta Voeltz, who survives him. They lived for a year at Boyd and then moved to Osakis, which was their home for six years, coming to Alexandria 11 years ago.
He was of a genial disposition, a good business man and an ardent sportsman, who was well liked by many people of this community to whom his sudden death was a great shock.
Besides the bereaved wife, he leaves five brothers and two sisters to mourn his passing: Herman of Hewitt, Louis of Center, N.D.; Paul of Wadena, Emil of Alexandria; Walter of Vesta, and Bertha (Mrs. O. K. Wildgrube) of Minot and Louise (Mrs. W. C. Letzring) of Echo. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at the residence and the Zion Lutheran church, Rev. A. Bartz officiating. Burial was in Kinkead cemetery. The pallbearers were E. H. Neumann, Fred Kuehl, George Brueske, Edward Kleweno, Robert Sieling and Walter Erdman.
