John Thomas Hawkins (1859 - 1935)
Anna Catherine McAdams Hawkins (1861 - 1927)

On June 11, 1900,
Sam C., age 8, lived in Township 5, Chickasaw Nation, I. T. with his parents, John T. & Annie C., ages 40 & 39, who were renting. His parents had been married 16 years; his mother had given birth to 7 children, all of whom were living. His father supported the family farming. Sam's siblings were Lessie N., age 14; John C., 11; Clara J., 7; James S., 5; Bessie P., 4; & Dudd, 3 months.

Clifford married Lydia Pearl White in Ardmore, Carter Co, OK on December 11, 1912.

Clifford Hawkins has completed a new log barn and crib at his farm."


On April 13, 1940,
Clifford S. & Lydia, ages 48 & 44, owned a home in Wilson, Carter Co, OK with their daughter, Gerea, age 14. They lived near Lydia's sister, Barthenia, who was married to Mose Love.

Lydia died Jan. 21, 1947.

Clifford's second marriage was to Dulcie Smith on December 28, 1950.

Kent Shafer, Ancestry member, 1_kmshafer (Dulcie's grandson), wrote, "Clifford was a great man, and made my grandmother very happy. I believe those times spent with Clifford were the best time of her life. He really made the times we went to visit them special."

"Sam C. Hawkins
Services for Sam C. Hawkins will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Harvey Chapel with David Sharpe of the Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Hawkins, 1017 5th NW, died Monday in a local hospital. He was born June 13, 1891 in Tennessee. He lived most of his life in Ardmore coming here from Tennessee. He was married to Dulcie Foster on Dec. 30, 1950 in Wichita Falls, Tex.

Survivors include his wife, Dulcie, of the home; 1 daughter, Mrs. Gerea Odom, Freemont, Calif.; 1 son, J.L., Tennessee Colony, Tex; 2 step-daughters, Mrs. Elva McMahan, of the home; and Mrs. Oleeta Ballinger, Dublin, Calif.; 3 step-sons, Noel Shafer, Altus, Foyd and Henry Shafer, Oklahoma City; 1 brother, Carson, Nederland, Tex.; 3 sisters, Mrs. Bessie Byrne and Mrs. Ettie Eudy, Ardmore, and Mrs. Hattie Thomas, Lexington; 2 grand-children; 1 great grandchild and 11 step-children.

Bearers will be Jack Price, Ned Sutton, Clarence Perryman, Ted Beckham, John Harrell, Paul Riddle and ray Love. Harvey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements."
