Annie was the daughter of John Bryson & Caroline (McLain) McAdams.

On June 29, 1860 (Federal Census),
John and Caroline McAdams lived in District 4, Marshall Co, TN. Their post office was in Belfast. John was a farmer. They owned real estate valued at $600 and personal wealth of $300.

On June 8, 1880,
Anna, age 18, lived in District 5, Marshall Co, TN with her parents, John B., & Caroline, ages 47 & 48. She & her sister, Cordelia, 16, were the only two children still living at home.

Annie married John Thomas Hawkins in Marshall Co, TN on November 19, 1884. She gave birth to five children while in TN & to four more in OK.

On June 11, 1900,
John T. & Annie C., ages were renting a home in Township 5, Township 5, Chickasaw Nation, I.T. They had been married 6 years; Annie had given birth to 7 children, all of whom were living. John farmed to support the family. Their children were Lessie, age 14; John C., 11; Sam C., 8; Clara J., 7; James S., 5; Bessie P., 4; & Dudd (Dudley), age 3 months.

"Mrs. J.T. Hawkins was taken to the Hardy Sanitarium Saturday. She has been sick very near all winter."

Annie died in Provence on September 23, 1927. Her funeral record has provided some information about her death, showing that she died from heart trouble at their home on a farm in Provence. Her funeral was held at home on Sept. 24th, at 2:30 p.m. The cost of her funeral was $190, with $100 being paid by the OK Burial Association.
