The 4th daughter of Rev John M'Clelland, Presbyterian Minister of Coagh in Co Tyrone, Ireland from 1755 to 1798. Isabella's mother's family name was Ramsey. Isabella eloped with William Brown on 3/10/1784. As marriage by a Catholic priest was unacceptable to her father. They were married again in the Church of Ireland on 4/11/1784 at the Parish Church of Tamlaght. Isabella & Wm Brown arrived in Philadelphia where Wm was in the linen business with his cousin John Lyle. After that business failed they settled in Charles Town where he became a printer. Their daughter Margaret married Wm Sommerville of Martinsburg. The burial place of Wm Brown is unknown. His obit in the Martinsburg Gazette states that he died in 1806. He died 3 weeks prior to the birth of his youngest child. Wm & Isabella had a number of children and grandchildren, many of whom are buried in this cemetery. Due to missing records, an accurate accounting is not available.
