Funeral services for Mrs. Oscar Long, 54, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. J. J. Young and the Rev. Charlie Christie officiating.

Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. Mrs. Long died Thursday, June 27, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by a sister Hettie B. Thomas, a brother, John Barrett and a half brother, Manuel Jernigan.

Survivors include her husband, Oscar Long; two sons, Willie O. and James A. Long, both of Winnfield; four daughters, Mrs. D. O. Pray, Miss Priscilla Long, Miss Scarlett Sue Long, all of Winnfield, and Miss Mary Long of Fort Worth, Texas; three brothers, Lee Barrett of Oak Grove, Lavelle Barrett of New York City, Willie Barrett of Chicago, Illinois, and a half brother, Ralph Ainsworth of Detroit, Michigan; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Sullivan of Washington, D.C.; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Pallbearers were Victor Brinkley, Ross Sport, John Poisso, Butch Pray, Gary Wilson, J. C. Wright, Aaron Jernigan, and Martin Bozeman.

Honorary pallbearers were Felix Long, Parker Long, Jim Long, and Morris Long.
