Mrs. Rogers has been blind for a number of years, having lost her eyesight July 9, 1907. She bore her affliction with Christian fortitude and patience.
She united with the Methodist church when a girl and was a faithful and active Christian. She died in the faith.
In the graveyard sweetly sleeping
Where the flowers gently sway
Lies the one we loved so dearly
But whom we could not save.
Heaven now retains our treasure
Earth her casket keeps
And the angels love to linger
Where our loving mother sleeps.
