She was one of eight children and is preceded in death by her brothers; Marvin Crank of Shipman, and Ollie Crank of Pennsylvania, and her sisters, Oakley and Gladys of Glasgow, Virginia, Lorraine and Ula of Roanoke, Virginia, and Elsie of Santa Maria, California.
She is also preceded by her husband, John Austin Ireland, and daughter, Dana Marie Ireland, of Springfield, Virginia.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Louise Ireland of Kapoho, Hawaii, and numerous nieces and nephews, and other related family.
Mary Louise loved flowers, birds and wildlife, and long walks in the woods or by the sea. She cared deeply for her family and friends and loved sharing their stories and jokes. When asked recently, before her death, what her spiritual beliefs were, she admitted that “I believe in everything.” And so we celebrate “Squeeze’s” long and well lived life with a service officiated by Reverend John Campbell at Wells Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston, Virginia, at 1:00pm on November 6, 2016. Burial to follow at Davis Cemetery at 2:30pm in Shipman, Virginia. Arrangements are under the direction of Wells Sheffield Funeral Chapel, 828 Front Street, Lovingston, Virginia 22949 (434-263-4097).
Her family extends a heartfelt thank you to Greenspring Hospice and Garden Ridge staff for their help and support.
